Teen Social Club
for ages 12 to 17
Navigating through life as a teenager is stressful for everybody. For many, these years can influence what kind of adult they will become. Preteens and teenagers on the autism spectrum generally face many more challenges navigating through this time in their lives than their typically developing peers. Relationships between people become more complex during this time in their lives, new friendships are formed, and subtle social cues that can be hard to pick up on become more part of the norm in middle and high school. At Including Kids, we believe that no preteen or teenager should have to be left out or limit their opportunities because of their special needs. With time and focus, they can learn to develop certain social skills, learn about others and how to adapt to new situations.
Including Kids Teen Social Club provides social skills instruction through group conversation and role playing for preteens and teenagers ages 12-17 years old. This group addresses skills such as finding common interests, different levels of friendships, romantic relationships, bullying and perspective taking.
Other social groups skills programs and workshops include Play Club for children 4-6 years old, Social Skills for kids 7-11 years old, and our FREE Saturday Spotlight Series Workshop which is open to children and adults of all ages once a month to discuss different issues. Our free Saturday Spotlight Series Workshop requires registration as spots are in high demand.
