Stepping Out - Including Kids

Stepping Out
for ages 13 to 30

Including Kids offers various groups for young adults to work on expanding their social skills and building peer relationships. Our Stepping Out program allows for teenagers and adults on the autism spectrum to take a “step out” into their communities to develop behavioral skills and confidence in interacting in different environments. We offer overnight respite for ages 13-30 a couple of weekends each month where clients will participate in organized activities such as going too restaurants, attending farmers markets, leisure, etc. Staff will be on site at all times to supervise clients. These community activities prepare young adults and adults on the autism spectrum for independent living and inclusion into mainstream society by building upon their confidence and social skills.

At Including Kids our ultimate goal is inclusion into the typical community for all of our clients. We believe that our clients should not have to deny themselves opportunities or advancement because of being on the autism spectrum. With hard work and learning, clients will have the skills to support themselves independently and take on the world.

We also off Ready For Life activities for young adults that take place during the week at the Including Kids site. We offer an activity for every day of the week so that your child can attend what works best for their schedule or whichever activity they take interest in most. These fun group activities will allow your child to build relationships with their peers at Including Kids and make life long friends.
