A Sibling’s Perspective
What’s it like on the flip side of special needs? Many children feel like the “other” child in the family or feel pressured to ease the perceived burden of the special needs of a sibling.  The sibling dynamic can be complex and requires a brand new perspective on sibling relationships. This in no way equates to parental failure! Siblings of special needs children frequently have very hidden perspectives on their brother or sister’s condition. The silent inner workings of a sibling brain (at any age) can be intriguing and should be considered when making family decisions. Come hear helpful strategies to open the lines of communication and raise empowered and happy siblings!
